Valance Bonanza

Image
Today, I did NOT go to Hobby Lobby.  Three out of the last four days though, I can't say the same!  On a whim on Friday I painted our laundry room with leftover paint and made this valance.  Grant helped and said "This is the BEST craft project EVER!"  After about one wall, he was bored.   The next day I decided to update the window in my bathroom:  Then on Monday I headed back to make these funky curtains for our den.  Then, just as quickly as the urge to sew came - it left and I have zero desire to sew anything, or go to Hobby Lobby for a good long while!  Onto the next odd whim...

Hello Chicago!

Last week Brian had one of his physical therapy conferences in Chicago and we decided to tag along.  We stayed at the conference hotel, which was the original Hilton hotel right downtown.  It was so beautiful and huge!  It has over 1200 rooms and a beautiful ballroom and lobby.  While Brian was off at the conference for 2 days, the kids and I saw the town.  I should give Bri a shout out for getting 2 podium presentations and receiving the best research award of the year for one of his papers.  Woo Hoo!  Here we are walking through Grant Park on our way to the museums.  Lake Michigan was awesome.  I was so nervous they would fall right off the ledge into the icy water...I'm sure I'll get the same feeling this summer at the Grand Canyon!  Our first stop was the Acquarium.  It was soooo awesome.  Check out those big fish!  We saw a dolphin and beluga whale show.  Later we taxied o...

Poor Sicky

Before our Chicago trip Grant caught a cold, but was on the mend when we left.  Well, 5 days in cold, breezy Chicago must not have helped because poor Grant now has pneumonia.  Last winter he had walking pneumonia and Haley had pneumonia too.  What's the deal??  I am so grateful for antibiotics, xrays, and good insurance to help get my little guy better fast!

Sometime in the last month or so I realized I have run out of creative ideas of things to do with my kids, and I was bored of the ones I've been doing for years now.  Enter Pinterest.  Enter Happiness!! I love stealing other's ideas so easily!  Farewell boredom!

I think the demo crew at our local Chevron got a little creative with the Food Mart sign.  Haley and I laughed the whole way home!!

Be My Valentine

On this rainy Saturday with Grant still getting over his fever we made some valentines for our door.  Grant's "I love the whole family"...yes I helped with spelling!  One of Haley's: Love those little hands!
