Brian's First Marathon
Brian trained all spring for his first full marathon. He would do super early long runs on Saturday mornings and we would meet him at various destinations around town - usually local donut shops around 8:30 at the end of his 15 or 20 miles. He was making great time too. However, when race day came along, the weather was abnormally hot. It was a muggy 85 degrees out. He had only trained in cold or chilly weather, and boy did it take its toll on him and all the runners on race day. It started in north Lexington at the Fasig Tipton horse auction/farm. It is so beautiful. Although we didn't see him start, we did find a great shady spot to camp out where we could see him at mile 11 and 22 and then rush to the end to see him finish. ...
