Roatan, Honduras

Image
Our first port visit was to Roatan, Honduras.  We had booked an excursion to the Tabaynya Beach Break, a place on the other side of the island right on the reef.  We met up with our group and bused 30 minutes through Roatan.  It was all of our first time to anywhere in central america and just looking out the bus windows was an adventure!   After getting back from our trip, I realized that I hardly took any pictures!  I was just loving taking it all in that I forgot to take the camera out much.  Oops.  Here is the beautiful beach we spent the day at.  The water was warm and clear and stunning!  It rained on and off, but it didn't stop us from having a great time.    The kids enjoyed the water slide and trampoline and the clear bottom kayak that you could see the reef and fish through.   I suppose I didn't get many pictures because I spent 90 percent of my day in the water snorkeling.  You cou...

Christmas Cruise

Image
I have wanted to go on a cruise since I was in high school and my parents would come home from their cruises with awesome pictures.  Well, 20 some years later...my cruise dreams were finally able to come to fruition.  Last February, I found a great deal for a cruise the week before Christmas and booked it!  We looked forward to our western Caribbean trip all year long.   Finally, the day had come, and we started our road trip to Tampa.   It sure is handy having family that lives in a port of call!  Papa drove us to the port in the morning and we set off exploring the ship for hours before it even left the port.  It was so fun! Here are some random masks that came in a Wendy's happy meal on our trip down.   We spent the first 2 days on the boat, playing, exploring and having a great time.  Here are the random pictures of our first days on the boat.  We loved dining in the main dinning room and had a table ...

Thanksgiving

Image
We hosted Thanksgiving again at our house this year and it was so nice to spend time with family.  Since my parents moved here over 2 years ago, we haven't had many house guests - they all have stayed at my parents new house!  But, this time, my sister and her family stayed with us and it was nice to spend more time together. The kids had fun trying out the new Wii U. Dinner was yummy, as usual, and so nice to split the making of the meal with my parents! We toured Ashland, the Henry Clay estate, that Grandma volunteers at.  Each tour guide is so neat and different that I am able to learn new things.  Haley must have locked her legs standing so much and got white as a ghost and nauseous, so I took her outside and had her sit at the end of the tour and watch the little movie they play in a chair. Thank goodness we caught it before she totally passed out! Although I don't have pictures, my favorite part of the day was playing laser tag at ...

Grant Turns 10

Image
On election day, Grant turned 10!  Lucky him, there was no school and we could have his party on a Tuesday!  He invited however many kids could fit in our car to go to Get Air, a trampoline park and jump their brains out for an hour.  They loved it!  Afterwards, we came back to the house for donuts from Magee's Bakery, Grant's favorite place, with hug drinks that I usually don't buy him when he begs for them.  He has some very nice friends.  That evening, we headed out as a family to Mellow Mushroom, his restaurant of choice, and celebrated with his favorite Noehren chocolate cake. Grant used his birthday money and combined it with money he has been saving up all year long to buy a wiiU.  He was very excited to be able to finally make his purchase! Grant is a joy to have in our family, and we can't believe our baby is 10!
