The Boss

So, yesterday Haley tells me that she wants to marry daddy when she gets older. I tell her that that is sweet, but he is already married to me, and you aren't supposed to marry your own dad because that is a little wierd. She then tells me "you're not married to daddy - he just works for you!" I couldn't stop laughing...not sure how I feel about that perception of things, but funny none-the-less. It reminds me of last year when she was so proud of herself for coming up with the perfect solution to Brian having to work so much. Her solution - to get a second daddy that worked to pay the bills so that our daddy could stay home and play! Ha!

Pneumonia Has Struck!

Poor Haley was just diagnosed with pneumonia :( She's been sick with what we and the doctor thought was the flu or a virus for about a week now but since she still was running a fever we took her in again today and they ordered a chest x-ray and sure enough she has pneumonia! Part of me is happy they found something and we can get her on antibiotics and get her better...but the other part of me is like "my baby has pneumonia!!!" She's always been a trooper (let's not forget the 3 surgeries and broken leg!) and I'm sure she'll be fine in a few days. At least next week is spring break and she can take time to get better. Let's just hope she doesn't share the love...Grant is already acting a little sickly. I have a feeling we'll be getting to know the couches and TV really well for a few days!

This St. Patrick's Day, our kids woke up to find a little trail left by a sneaky leprechaun that led to a small pile of loot! They were loving it! And for the first time in MONTHS Grant has decided it is ok to smile in pictures again. ...and they even had green milk with their cereal. Yum! Somebody stop me before I turn tonight's mashed potatoes green too! It reminds me of the " greenie " meals we'd make for the newbies on the mission. Leprechaun Grant.

Happy Birthday To Me!

I know this may come as a surprise to some, but I have a drape addiction :) OK...addiction is probably a little too strong of a word- but I really LOVE nice drapes. That said, you can understand my extreame saddness when in final negotiations on the closing of our Delaware house the buyers pulled out the forbidden straw and asked to keep all of my drapes and hardware. I know it was so petty, but I worked really hard to either make or save up to buy them and they matched everything so nicely. Boo Hoo. Farewell drapes. So, I warned Brian that eventually at some point I would not be able to refrain from buying or making a whole house worth of drapes in the new house and to just roll with it. For the past 6 months he's been great about it and I've finished most of the house - except our bedroom. So for my birthday with the help of a nice gift card from my MIL I bought my drapes for our 2 bedroom windows. Horray!!! I adore them. ...now for the bedspread... OK, enough a...
