Welcome Mimi and Papa

Image
Our first week of summer has come and gone! We were lucky enough to have Brian's parents in town and we've done a ton of fun stuff. I should first apologize about the amount of photos! I'm still new enough to this blog stuff that I haven't figured out how to do cool photo colages yet. So, in the meantime...keep scrolling, baby! We spent a morning at the Explorium showing off our amazing bubble making skills. This is my personal favorite bubble - so glad Mimi caught it on camera! We got to meet the real studs in town...literally...at Darley horse farm. In the back is 2002 Derby winner Street Sense. It is SUCH a pretty farm with loads of famous race horses. Here's Holy Bull takin' a walk into his stable. This was Haley's favorite horse of the day. Somebody reached his limit of looking at horses! Love this photo -a classic Grant. We enjoyed jamming out to Shades of Grass at the weekly free bluegrass concert. We had my sister and her family stay over...

I'm going to be published!!

I am sooo giddy! I just found out that I am going to be published in the local paper! I submitted an article for their values section and it was accepted and will be published August 28th! The section is on how you live your values and pass them onto the next generation. I'm not sure why - but one day a story line came to mind and I typed it up, edited it, and emailed it off within hours. They are sending out a photographer in July for a photo shoot. Sounds so fancy :) I better do my hair that day! Usually it takes up the majority of the back page, so I am pretty darn excited. I haven't been published in years. Woo Hoo!
