Cub Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park

On our last full day in the park, we headed over to hike Cub Lake, a easier 5.1 mile lower altitude hike.

The lake is covered in beautiful lilly pads.  It really is quite pretty.

It might be hard to see, but just as we were about to leave, a young moose appeared right across the lake from us.  He was so fun to watch.  He would drink, then splash around and play.  Eventually he ran off, but it was awesome to see him.

After our hike, we had a PB&J picnic from the random road trip offerings in our car.

That night Haley and I went to the YMCA game night.  We played some games in the basement while we waited for bingo and trivia to begin.  The boys aren't big gamers, so Brian read on the porch of the lodge while Grant played gaga ball.

We didn't win, but it was super fun anyway!

I had never heard of gaga ball, but apparently it is all the rage at camps.  It is basically a pit of children throwing a ball at each other.  Well,  there are rules - but basically you throw the ball and if you hit another's legs they are out.  Last one standing wins.  Any way about it, the kids seem to love it.  Grant played for hours till it was too dark to play with his new found friends.
We enjoyed the YMCA and hanging out and shopping in Estes Park so much!  We were sad to call this our last night in this cozy, beautiful spot.
