The Noehren Great Adventure - Day 1

This week was the start to our camp-our-way-across-the-USA adventure!  Our first stop was Cahokia Mounds in Missouri.  It was the site of a big indian civilization around 600-1200 AD, and was really interesting to check out.

We think we should put a sign like this in our yard.
This was the largest of many mounds and was the chief's home.
We climbed the 153 steps (Haley counted) to the top and enjoyed the view of St. Louis in the distance.

Next we headed to the mighty Mississippi River and checked out the St. Louis Arch.

Then we headed to a great campsite at Katfish Katy's right on the Missouri River.  After setting up camp we headed into Columbia to eat yummy pizza and check out the University of Missouri.  It was a great town!

Sunset on the Missouri River from our campsite.  It was perfect!!

Nice Indian mounds. Nice campsite. What fun for you guys.
What a cool thing to do! The mounds look so impressive, and so do all those stairs. :) The Arch looks neat. That last photo is just gorgeous!!
