Tubing

The next morning Brian took the kids down to the pool, and they had the place to themselves.  It was a fun pool with a cool dolphin statue in the middle.

We noticed that they had all sorts of activities for kids over the holidays and come to find out they were all FREE to any overnight guest.  So next we hit up the bouncy houses they had set up on the indoor tennis courts.  They also had xbox games (is it sad to admit this was all of our first time ever playing xbox?).  After talking to the ladies in charge we learned that you don't even have to stay with your kids.  You can sign them in and out at will throughout the day...for FREE!  Can you believe it?  Even though we didn't do that this time, how cool would that be to go for a run, or out to eat, or to a show or whatever!!  Very cool is the answer.  They only offer that during holiday times (other times it costs money) but how nice to have that option!

We ate a buffet style breakfast in this pretty dining room and again - kids 12 and under ate FREE with a paying adult.  It cost probably $5 more than all of us at McDonalds.  Am I starting to sound like a paid advertisement?  We just really loved the family friendly perks and all in such a pretty setting.  I usually don't like to talk money, but since we stayed on a Thursday night it was only $150.  Let's just say I've stayed an much worse places for more...and I'm pretty sure free babysitting wasn't in the offer either.
After watching Grant eat more food than I have ever witnessed him eating in one setting we headed for Paoli Ski Resort - only about 5 minutes away.  We went tubing for 3 hours and had a blast!!

This trip definitely had the makings of the perfect annual tradition, just like our beach camping trips in Delaware.  We might try skiing, or horseback riding, or go karting on future trips depending on the time of year.  Even though we love to travel, and do a lot as a family - they are usually tied to a work trip for Brian - so he usually misses all the fun.  The best part was just having two days together without any work doing what we love - making new memories and going on more adventures.

What an awesome place!
No kidding--this does sound like something that might have to become a family tradition!! I love all the freebie perks. And you should totally be proud you've never played xbox before. :D
